True CL 160?
« on: March 31, 2011, 05:16:57 PM »
Howdy. I've got a line on what a guy says is a true CL160. He doesn't have the title and is unsure of the year. Any idea how to tell if this thing is legit?

The comment about being "true" harkens back to when Honda dealers put a Scrambler kit on "street" CB160 bikes (presumably since they didn't sell as well) converting them into CL160D models.  A "true" CL160 Scrambler will have a frame number starting with"CL", whereas the converted D model looks about the same but has a frame number starting with "CB".

Here's the corrected link (without Larry's name) ::)

Kevin,, thanks for correcting, my computer skills can be lacking to say the least. And I doubt I am part of any website :D.   I had forgotten about the prefix connotation...Larry

I too am in the process of rebuilding a CL 160 (1966).  I have been unable to find a place to purchase piston rings.  Any suggestions on where to purchase them would be appreciated.  Thanks
