Replacing a Clutch Cable
« on: April 09, 2006, 09:16:32 PM »
Are there any online instructions on how to replace one and is it difficult? Also, where can I buy a new clutch cable for a 75 200T?

Replacing a clutch cable is pretty straightforward and not much brand-related. You can remove first the one you have and take it with you to an official dealer to get a new one, or buy the new one beforehand and pray it is the right one. Generally you have to release the tension in the cable first, and then remove the barrel from the handle. After that you can remove the clutch end. Sorry I can't be more specific as I don't know wich bike you are talking about.

Clutch cable removal is generally detailed in the manual as it is part of the engine removal process (on any bike)

If you don't have a manual - I would recommend it as a good investment for a 30 year old bike.

PS - moved to the correct forum.

These guys list it --> http://www.crotchrocket.com/fiche_select.asp  but I don't know if they actually carry it.

Drill down through the fiche files: motorcycles/honda/1975/CB200T

It's shown on the 'handlebar switch @ lever' page.
Actually runs --> 1975 CB550-K1
