OK, I stand corrected as I thought I probably shoulda been  :) I was saying that SCondon is doing more riding than HE plans and apparently that isn't the correct plan. Different Sean/Shawn. Try this and see if it makes more sense - Jerry, I believe Justin is referring to Shawn Swenson (climbingaz) in Tempe (PHX) - which would make a lot more sense. I'm trying to keep up with this whole thing but see where that gets me  ;D Just very glad you guys are on the ball  :)
Well ya had me goin' Jerry!!! WTF would Oakland,Ca. Sean be doin' over in New Mexico???........Glad ya got it sorted out!!!!

Here are a few pics from my part of the Texas ride.  There are many, many more than what I took, and I'm sure they'll show up in the near future.

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

So, Justin has Godzilla from Artesia, NM last night to Lordsburg, NM tonight. BIG KUDOS to Justin for being a Lone Ranger from Lubbock to Lordsburg!!!!

Shawn (climbingAZ), Scott (Scotly), and I (RAFster122S) are meeting him tomorrow. Scott & Shawn are going to ride from Lordsburg to Willcox AZ with me taking the saddle at least once Shawn claims. I'm driving the trailer back part way...
Then in Wilcox, AZ I'll part ways with Scott trailering for the trip back to Tempe (Phoenix). Scott hopes to scoot home before dark.

Looks like Chris (Shenanigans) may be helping drive the truck/trailer from Willcox back to to Tempe.  Scott's having trouble with his bike...not sure if he's going to be along for the ride or not. Hope so.

Just got back home to Texas a couple of hours ago.  From Lamesa, TX to Lordsburg, NM, and back home to Texas my sohc four performed flawlessly!  Just put my bike in the garage.  She has 1,000 miles under her belt in just four days!  I am proud of her!  How many 40 year old bikes could do this without so much as a hiccup!  Going west with Godzilla, I averaged around 33mpg going uphill and into the wind.  I had an all time low of 28 mpg going 70 mph into a 30 mph headwind right before the handoff in Lordsburg, NM! Over the 500 miles coming home, I had a tailwind.  Going home my mpg was 45, 47, 54, 51, 38, and 50 with speeds ranging from 60 to 75 mph.  Coming home, the 54 mpg was an all time best for me and my bike!  So I got my best and worst mpg on the same trip!  Thank god for the reliability and dependability of an sohc four because I was all alone for 1,000 miles!                    Justin Carthel, Littlefield, TX

I've kinda hoped this would be included in the log book. If not, this little "trial run" will sure make great practice for the "real thing" in 2012  ;)

Damn, no slacking off this weekend, I am going to have to work on the bike Sat and Sun to make sure it is ready by the time the Rally hits Chicago. I had really hoped to ride down and hook up in St. Louis, but I don't know if I can be ready by then.

I just posted on the rider part of the world tour for Sean and I who went from Rosamond to SLO to meet Matt.  Pics of APE and Jay and his pals there (thank you for arranging the track for us Jay.  What an experience).  Sean will be posting in a few days he is still on the road moving to San Francisco then off to Nevada.  Amazing.

Just a quick one to say that Godzilla had a an overnight at my house in Walnut Creek, CA(20 miles east of San Francisco), and is headed for Fernley, NV today.

Made sure to feed him some fish before bedtime, cause he looked a bit peckish. This morning I'm having a difficult time tearing him away from the locals as he regales them with tales from the road, and stories of all the awesome people he has met on his journey.

I read someone post that this rally is full of people making heroic efforts to see it through, and I feel privileged and humbled to have met some of you. This is something I will remember the rest of my life, and I encourage everyone to make whatever small sacrifice they can to be a part of this journey.

Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame
