Trying to follow GZ from afar.. Where in Montana are you planning to meet Greg? Are you riding solo, or will there be other riders from Calgary?

Crossing over at Waterton, Canada onto the Chief Mountain Hwy on the US side.  Close to Babb Montana.

Hoping to had one more SOHCer for the journey, but not looking good.  Might have some buddies on other bikes tag along, or it may be another solo jaunt for me.  If so, will be almost 800 miles with GZ for me.  Already over 550.

OK, the plan is for a handoff 9/7 in the vicinity of Chief Mountain/Babb, MT around noon.  I attached a map of the approximate route from there for those that want to join in.  Send me a PM if you are interested so we can figure out where to meet up.

The Oregon crew should start thinking about what they want to do for a handoff somewhere in Oregon and let me know.

I don't think the routes and dates have been firmed up yet.  If anyone has a list of where GZ will be staying on any particular date, I'd be happy to add it!

Thanks, Fred.  It would have been cool if you guys could have come north to Oregon for a second go-around.

Old School, you can color in Wyoming and Idaho on your map.

Maps are up to date!  AWESOME job Greg!  Of the 48 states, you have FOUR of them!  Each a Western "Big Box" state too!!  Incredible!

How many miles this go 'round?

Total miles start to finish for the Montana-Wyoming-Idaho leg was 1587.  Godzilla miles are 936.

Handoff from kap384 was around noon 9/7 just north of St. Mary, MT.  GZ spent the first night camped out near Townsend, MT.  Second night was near Tetonia, ID.  GZ is currently residing near Boise, ID, having arrived the evening of the 9th.  I'll get a ride report out before too long.

Old school, I just noticed I goofed up on the handoff date in my post.  The handoff at St. Mary was on Sept 7th, not the 5th.  So the night of the 7th was in Townsend, and the 8th was Tetonia.  Thanks.

The handoff to mickey6 occurred this morning in John Day, OR.  He should be getting close to Portland by now.

I'll get the mileages out in a bit.

GZ slept soundly in Carnation, Wa. last night after a swell ride up I5 from Portland. Met Mickey and Dave (Mickey6 & Ndstrylgrnrngr) at Portland International Raceway for the handoff. Mickey wanted to do a few laps around the track but management nixed the idea. Left Portland about 1:00pm and hit nasty traffic south of Tacoma. Made it home about 8:00 or so. Will meet up with Greg (Industrial Rat400f Killer) after he gets off work for the handoff. My wife and I will probably take Gz for a local jaunt today to show him the sights.
Picture of Mickey & me at handoff.
Mickey had carb leak problems. Glad you made it home OK mate.
