New owner here

Hey everyone,
I picked up a '75 CB550K1 last week with only 3600 miles on it. I'm beyond excited, just waiting on a battery and some new rubber to show up. I'm new to the CB/SOHC scene, but I've had a '99 Shadow ACE 750 for a few years now.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of info here. I had a 76 CB 550 many years ago. Wish I had held on to it. Show us some pics. of your bike.

Welcome and this place is stacked when it comes to info. I love my 550. Nice score and those are some low miles!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?
I think I'll be busy going for a ride.
Good luck!

Sorry, haven't gotten around to doing much profile filling-in. I'm in Philadelphia (and mostly work on the bike in New Jersey).
Here's a picture of where I am now, I'll be replacing the pipes with the stock pipes this week and hopefully doing a full tune-up/cleaning.

Nice. Do you have the side covers and 550 emblems? I have a set of emblems if you need them, and one slightly broken cover.

I've got both side covers with emblems - they're off because they're actually lightly cracked as well. I'm planning on filling in the back with some wire mesh or fiberglass cloth and some tiger hair body filler to hopefully bolster them a bit. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
The stock exhaust is probably a few days from going on - I've got 3 of the 4 polished up, the final one has had masking tape on it for 15+ years it looks like and the glue is rock hard. I'm going to have to break out some solvents.
