Honda Valkyrie Rune
« on: April 13, 2006, 04:51:56 AM »
Just found this picture of the Honda rune

Obviously I have been drifting "back in the day" and have missed the new stuff.

Trying to visualize that front end and the mufflers on my K6

So is that vision a dream or a nightmare?

The rune's are wicked bikes, if you can accept them for what they are.
The run Goldwing motors, single side swingarm, led lights, massive brakes, etc.
My buddy here at work has one, and the thing flies...

Bet its not quick enough to get past its looks. Sorry but I find that extremely ugly. If you like the Aztec, you'll love the Rune?

hey 6pk, I got an aztek and while it looks ugly at first, it grows on you and rides better and handles better than virtually any other vehicle its size. It corners well and the ride is as smooth as many cars. you want to talk about an ugly car, look at the amc eagles from the early 80s. THOSE are ugly. The posche boxster is ugly. Many people think our bikes are ugly.....

Yup,while some will love something, others will not like it. And indeed, the Aztek's mechanical attributes were not in dispute. I know of 2 neighbors that had them and were more than pleased with their behavior. Just not my cup of tea in the looks department. I'm a relic from back in the day. I like my bikes without bodywork and spokes holding rims away from hubs. The friends of my three sons all laugh at the SOHC bikes calling them "geezer machines" and scooters. I could care less. I like them and they can quickly remove the stress and strain from the daily grind better than 10 beer.

Whatever the Honda design guys are smoking, I'll take two because it must be GOOD stuff.

And I like the way the Boxster looks.  Being a Porschephile, I like the way they all look.  I even love the 914, which some have said is ugly.

while i was in a tiny little honda shop the other day with dad we briefly gazed at the rune... we had to look quickly so that our eyeballs would not melt from the ugliness.  it was a unanimous decision... it is one of the most ridiculous looking bikes we've ever seen.  but, as we all know... we've all got __________ .

Groovie, I'm with you on the 914. I think they are great little cars. Lots of people don't like 'em but I do. Make mine a 914-6 though. :)

Agreed.  The 914-6 is the only way I'll take a 914.  Upgraded with the sideshifter of course.
