I'm getting ready to get a new AGM battery. I saw some at Wallmart that fit my bike. Does anyone know if Yuasa makes these for wallmart?.I know Yuasa makes batteries and puts different brand names on them for different companies. Have not been able to verify the Wallmart manufacture. If anyone knows please let me know

Ken,
Those are not Yuasa product. They're Chinese-made. If you want the best available price on Yuasa AGM, buy the Interstate brand at Sam's Club.

I got my AGM at sears. you still have to fill it and charge it though. It has been fine so far.

Just ordered 2 Yuasa AGM batteries from Venco Wings. One for my CB750K and one for my Wing. Believe it or not, my Westco battery in the Wing will be 8 years old this July. I figure it best to replace it rather than get stranded somewhere.

+1 on the Scorpion battery, and I've had nothing but great service from batterystuff.com. Had a defective battery last year on my Shadow, they asked me to simply test it and send them the numbers and shipped out a new one the next day free of charge.

An AGM battery does NOT need to be filled. It is completely sealed from the factory. If you filled the battery, it is either not an agm or you messed up the battery. An agm is completely maintenance free. It is completely sealed and can be mounted in ANY position. Even a regular sealed, maintenance free battery cannot be mounted in any position.
AGM stands for Absorbed Glass Mat and it is an advanced version of an SLA Sealed Lead Acid.
If you still think your battery is agm, crack the case and see. If it leaks, it is NOT agm. An AGM will not leak acid.

You do NOT have an AGM battery if you had to fill it. Skunks reply says it all.

It also says "sealed lead acid" on the box, or SLA. SLA and AGM are not the same thing. I think whoever makes the batteries for sears may be trying to confuse people even further.

The one I looked at at Wallmart also need to be filled (I didn't buy it post were reversed) it had 6 little bottles of electrolyte in the box and the seal to close it up. I thought that was odd. So now I don't what kind of battery it is. It clearly says AGM on the box & battery. You have to seal it somewhere factory or home.I hope someone wiser than myself will chime in on this.

Yuppers, it seems we were taken in by the same scheme. It clearly said AGM in big letters on the box. I would swear it says it on the battery but I am not taking it out to go look, lol.

My AGM in my Yammy is sealed and it came filled and partially charged. Enough to start that beast with ease.

This is on a site about Yuasa. They are calling it AGM, but you fill it with acid and charge. I am confused...

+1 on AGM tech.

My scorpion is sealed. I never filled it, and couldnt if I wanted to.

They GET FILLED.. during their construction at the factory. Never again after that.

If you guys are getting bait and switched somewhere.. you can always just order a scorpion

They are great.

YOu can also kind of tell by looking..
AGM batteries dont have translucent plastic parts where you would look at fluid levels.
They also dont have overflow outlets.
OBV, they dont have refill ports.

like here... nice opague black plastic. Who would know if it even needed to be filled?

Just checking around, it appears there are now AGM batteries on the market that require the customer to do the initial fill of electrolyte. It is then sealed and is not intended to ever be reopened.

Sounds like another way for manufacturers to cut their costs and still charge a premium for something the customer has to do. Gives them an out of the customer fills the battery wrong or does not seal it right. I think I will stick with the traditional filled and sealed at the factory agm batteries.

Well I still have not bought one yet. Still doing research.Went to advance Auto parts today they have one there Now it looks like what I expected one to look like Agm Like cameron said No fill lines and it is not translucent.

Johnie start looking at them and you will see what we are talking about from the factory you can not see how they were filled if done at home or the store you will see the seal provided with the battery.

Tipper I'm beginning to think you may have a AGM after all.

Skunk May be onto something this looks like a way for them to save them money not us.
I have decided to go with one sealed at the factory either yuasa or Scorpion. I will get it local if i am on the road and have battery problems I want to be able to go to a nation wide chain store and swap it out hard to do if you buy it on the net.
Bummer is I have 3 chargers none of the AGM 3,4, or 5 steps

chickenman says the interstate brand at Sams club is made by Yuasa so that may be the one. Have not checked out NAPA yet.
