This the day I bought her. She didn't look as good up close as in the pic. The PROs were no rust, new tires, complete OEM exhaust, and 99% of the pieces were there. The CONs every trim piece was damaged or scraped, didn't run because carbs were gummed up, non oem battery custom fitted by cutting the battery cage, cool 70's seat, bad paint job, bent high rise handlebars, smoked like a beyotch when I finally got it started, forks needed a complete rebuild because the gators were gone and no protection for the seals, electrical things to sort out, and whole list of typical PO BS. I'll save you the boring details on everything I had to do to it.
First thing was the carbs, they were one of the better things on the bike.
Next the paint job by stripping and fixing dents in the tank.
Paint job and new badges.
Then a new seat cover and foam. Way more comfy.
Next the head came off for rebuild. Because the PO didn't know about the rubber band trick I had to replace some valves and guides.
Machine shop used graphite to clean the head. Never heard of it but it worked. No more smokey joe.
Finally got it back together but still needs work to get it running.
Another carb cleaning and she runs! Took her out for a cruise around the neighborhood between rainstorms. That's Ellie just chillin'

Close up. Still needs some tweaking but I'm pretty happy with it the way it turned out. I've already had two neighbors come over to check it out and BS about it. Can't wait for backfire moto night this coming spring.
