The shiny chrome filter contrasts nicely with deep blue chrome of my abused Kerker headers that I reinstalled today.

Yep, I carried it up to the auto parts store and it fit pretty much everything. Another plus is that it gives me the clearance needed to change my filter without pulling my aftermarket pipes. Not a bad deal; a filter AND re-usable spin-on filter adapter that gives better clearance than the plate type for a mere 12 Benjamins!

Next time you use one put a little clean oil around the o-ring and and try not to over-tighten the filter....

Thanks mate, I've been doing oil changes on various vehicles for 40 years now, (and CB750's for 33 of them) and you're right, a light smear of oil around the seal is the way to go, but those filters that I mentioned must have been built on a Friday, they were rubbish, but if the ones in the pics don't leak, that's great, I might buy some myself. I was just giving you a hard time,

I have no doubt that you are well versed in the proper way to change an oil filter.

These filters appear to be as well made as any, although they may be stuffed with toilet paper for all I know.

It's good that the market is filling a demand but bad that it may cause you to lose some adapter business.

It shouldn't hurt Terry's business. You still should see him for the adaptor if you wanna run a cooler.

These filters are crap. blew out the applied wet, normally tightened filter gasket under idle oil pressure. big mess!

Say what?? Are you sayin' it blew the o ring out of the filter while idling? Maybe it fell out of it's groove when you installed it.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Under idle oil pressure the filter gasket was pushed past the "gasket groove" and oil went everywhere. I still have the POS if you want to test it.

Toss the filter who knows what is in it. The adapter is what you want and a good filter from the auto parts store. take the oring from your honda filter to size one up. Just ordered mine if anyone has found a filter at the auto store for a 750 please let me know brand name and number. Don't see why it would leak any more than the one on your car would if you get a good brand name filter. Thanks

The other day I took Terry's oil cooler & adaptor off and installed this chrome filter with adaptor. I have 132 miles on it and everything is fine. I don't know why this filter thing is such a mystery. The chrome filter looks to be the same dimensions as the hard to find Wix filter I took off of Terry's adaptor. Everyone keeps saying they are running these Harley chrome filters that are easy to come by. I don't have exact dimensions handy right now but this filter looks to be the same diameter as a Fram PH8A but half the length. I would sure like to get to the bottom of this BS once and for all. Y2 cowboy......I can't offer any explanation why your filter blew out the way you said it did. Maybe you got a dud......Terry said he had a bunch of em that leaked?

The o-ring diameter is smaller on the PH8A but the canister is the same diameter.

i made one for each my 550s i love them. pretty simple.

I have always thought that without the stock finned cover for cooling that bike and oil would run hotter. Extra Heat can be bad for your oil? no?
