I still maintain that if points were so awesome and great, then why are they not being used in ANYTHING anymore?

I agree that electronic ignition is a great way to go and more modern, but the point made about keeping the points, and using an ignition amplifier is a good one. First off it gives the benefit of better spark, so better power and mileage, but keeps the points in situ in case the amp goes bad...which I have never heard of one doing. We use ign amps on old BMW airheads instead of electronic ignitions a lot for the reasons stated and since it is a pain to swap in an elec ign and EXPENSIVE for a BMW Airhead. I will try the Panco on my CB350F when I need to do new points instead of new points for many reasons, but there is a good argument for ign amps like that dude said above.

Does anyone know if Pete is still a member on the board here?

I tried contacting him directly a couple weeks back, and didn't get a response. I'd really like one of his setups for my 400f.

Ooooer, I want an ignition amplifier for my 1980 R100RS mate, where can I get one? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
