HONDA SOHC 4 Engine repair school?

Is their such a thing ?.
If like ne I procrastinate in pulling out a engine and rebuilding oit because of the fear of stuffing it up.

yes... it's called MMI

little pricey though... cost me 10grand for 33 week course... hands on and locked in a wrenchin job for me though. 

would i do it again?  you bet.

in the engine clinic... the motors we tore down and rebuilt were sohc's   ;D ;D ;D

probably cuz there are soooo many of them ... and mmi get all their stuff donated from the bike companies (and sometimes shops or other bike owners)

Hey Dave,
Funny you should ask....after last years SOHC trip from LA to New Orleans we were thinking of setting up a SOHC workshop where a team of assembled SOHC experts (some experts from this list) would demonstrate on a SOHC engine. Course was going to be in New Orleans and would have lasted for 4-5 days. It was just an idea and so far not much has been done. If there was future interest it could be set up sometime.

Aletrnatively if you are like me and have no idea about where to start dissmantling an engine, I am lucky enough to have more than one SOHC and out of necessity I HAD to dismantle the bottom end of my K2 engine AND the top end of my K4 engine.Through help from list members and having the shop manual Ive learned a lot and am continuing to do so. Its a slow process for me at least but its fun. Now I have to assemble the electrics and wiring on the bike, once I have rebuilt the clutch.

I was not so much saying that I would stuff up the job , but, with some assistance I bet I would enjoy the heck ot of the job of rebuilding a CB 750 SOHC.
Guys like Terry here in Australia even made a split case history and making that leak, well done Amigo. With all due respect toleft handed people I would love to be a part of a rebuild school.
Bearing in mind I have done some work on RR Lycoming and P&W.
The Honda SOHC 4  is like any other modern engine of our time.

With all due respect to Terry and a few others in the business of being very able on Honda/SOHC4s.
I have been in New Orleans in late May and sorry Bud could not make the date but made Mulats.
As we said in the Pirate Navy Dead Men don't fart!!
I bet there are a few shipwrecked bikes in the N.O.-Biloxi AO.
