I wish it could Start ;-(
« on: April 09, 2011, 05:42:38 PM »
Well, I got a few things don. Painted it myself in my garage, put on the wheels, buttoned up the suspension (rear on the way) and a fer more things.

Next, wiring, Carb, Ignistion, start........in which I'm stuck and I suck at all of them.
Unless a few good folks would like to have a garage party, network, wrench, beer & pizza....and Cobra rides, I may decide to let a professional handle the rest.

The bike fell from the jacks and chipped a few fins about the size of a nickel on the cylinders. Ist right behind the exhausts, but my question is what could happen? And can it be fixed?

Cheers,
Kouros

Beautiful bike!  I really like the silver frame.  Good luck finishing it up.

Did you save the broken chips? Fins can be fixed but you may have to pull the engine and would lose some paint on it probably, and a complete fill repair might get spendy. Other alternative may be to try and file and smooth the area up so the chips do not look so raw.  Great looking Machine.

Paint is rattle cans from Alsa Corp. I bought their Turquoise (Killer Kandy) Base and candy combo along with their speed Clear cleat coat. I will never buy their products again. I wasn't happy with customer service, products, prices, or anything else about Alsa. The speed clear clear coat is exactly the same product as Spraymax 2000. The difference is Alsa sells Speed lear for $40/can and Sparymax2K is $15 to 17/can.

Why is the side stand so short in the first place? No wonder that your bike fell. would go back to the original stand.

Appreciate your work even if its not my cup of tea.  Compliments.

This is the side stand that was on it. Its scary tilted, but thats not why the bike fell off the stands (Jack stands). I should have modified the the motorcycle jack and used. My bad.

Your bike looks nice, nice, nice. Did you take pictures of the paint process or follow a certain guide?

I feel your pain with the wiring. And I have some fin damage on my new engine. I was just going to jb weld them back to looking good from afar.
