They are stock... the 75/76 had lower bars and the foot controls were set back slightly. The '77 had a more upright seating position.

The blade fuse option isn't neccesary unless your melts down. This can easily be prevented by a good cleaning.

New bars came in today. Mocked them up to see how they look. Much better than what was on there. I think the PO put the '77 bars on, because of the fairing he had installed.

Cleaned up the gauges and installed new meter cushions.

Finished rebuilding the master cylinder and cleaning it up as well.

The PO had installed a set of dual horns. Apparently they were drawing too many amps.

Got the triple clamps cleaned up and painted for the All Balls tapered bearing conversion.

A littel aircraft stripper does wonders.

I also have double horns on my 400f. On mine they are wired right to the positive side of starter solnoid.

I used the small spacer supplied with the kit. Everything seemed to bolt up correctly. I torqued to 22-28 ft lbs, swiveled the head, loosened and retorqued to 6-9 ft lbs.

If you are using a relay, I can see where that would work well. However, if you are running that many amps through the original wiring and switch (as my PO did), you could have a problem.

Thankfully the po did install a relay. So far its the only electrical thing that works on the bike.

Got the gauges, mirrors and forks back where they belong. As soon as I get a new bearing retainer for the front wheel, she'll be rolling again. I still have to pull the rear apart to replace the bearings though.

With 8500 original miles she's was in pretty good shape. The PO did a good job of keeping it serviced. The oil is even still clean and looks like it was serviced yesterday even though it hadn't run in 10 years. I pulled the carbs, cleaned them and installed all new gaskets. I also adjusted the cam chain. Will take a look at the valves once everything is back together. She a smooth runner! Still a little corrosion to clean up on the engine nuts and bolts.

I didn't know you could just "hose down" a bike like that!

Got it out for a ride this weekend. My daughter was re-learning how to ride a bike with a clutch again. Ended up killing the battery with all the re-starts. Recharged the battery and dug into the rear wheel to replace the bearings and clean up the swing arm. Waiting on a new bearing retainer as the old one was destroyed in the removal process. I made a removal tool, but it was still a bear to get out. I ordered the a real tool from Motion Pro.

I also installed a dyna ignition last week. What a difference that makes! Beats the heck out of trying to adjust the two sets of points. Bike runs so much smoother. I've got the coils too, but am waiting on the plug wires to install.

Got the coils wires in tonight and wired up the Dynas.

Soldered the terminal ends for the coils

Heat shrink on the terminal ends

I soldered the leads from the coils into the existing harness.

Drove the bike to work today for the first time. Not a bad ride if you keep her up around 7k rpms. This bike is for my daughter and we're going on our first group ride this Sunday.

Major fixes
- Cleaned and synch'd carbs
- Dyna Ignition and coils
- Replaced front and rear wheel bearings
- Replaced steering bearings
- New chain and sprockets
- New tires (still need to be mounted)
- Rebuilt master cylinder and caliper (converted to DOT 5)
