Here's a fun topic, how wide are your chicken strips?
Those who dont know what a chicken strip is, feel free to ask.

CB650C 1/2" front, 3/4" rear.

If I've defined it correctly, the "chicken strips" are the bands of unworn rubber on either side of the tread on your tires. The width the bands is supposed to be indicative of how far you lean the bike over in turns. The narrower the bands, the farther you lean and the less "chicken" you are about hard riding...

1/8th inch rear & 1/4 inch front cb350f

less than 1/2 inch rear and 3/4 inch front zx7r

my hard cornering happens in Boulder Canyon. 35 mile per hour curves.
the 350 has seen them at about 60mph tops... the suspension washes out beyond that.
the 750 has seen them at about 75mph tops... i chicken out beyond that

Both the bike and I are getting old. My chicken strips are pretty much intact and it might be better to describe them as fillets.

It's funny, I was just looking at the rear tire earlier today and thought quietly to myself that I was riding fairly hard since the rebuild
The old K8 Beast ....... a smidge less than 1/2 " on the rear

Unfortunately we dont know exactly how much we are all leaning our respective bikes. Besides, anyone in a big empty parking lot can get rid of chicken strips almost completely in about 15 minutes. But that takes some stones too, just in a more controlled environment.

dunno how small i could get them, stuff gets in the way, exhaust one side, and the bloody stator cover on the other..... but that is now only academic, the ol girl is in storage for a long time now.... though was fun when i was trying...

Well, my 400f still has plenty of chicken strips, of course, it hasn't rolled in almost 3 years, so that may have something to do with it, but I just ran my SV in a track day at Grattan Raceway over here in Michigan, and the strips on that bikes tires are all gone-

Can't wait to do the same with the Honda-

Never ever thought about the subject. I just lean as much as I need to do with safely in mind. I prefer to keep some "spare" lean angle just in case I need it.

I have experienced crashes with my mountain bike, so I never forget that roads are full of sand, salt, diesel and oil spills. A simple flattened soda can and you are history, much more in Spain whose roads are surrounded by killer fences designed to avoid cars getting out of the road, but work like guillotines on biker's limbs.

I only use the strips when I realy need too, I think thats why my tires are bald in the center and new on the sides
