USING A 1975 CB550 TANK on a 1972 CB750.

Found a new tank on ebay I like, but it's on a 1975 CB550. It's in pretty good shape and would like to buy it only if it fits onto my 1972CB750K2 without major modifications. Can it be done? Also there another tank for sale from a 1978 CB750. Not 100% sure if it will fit my 1972 bike.

Hi from Texas!

The K8 tank is larger than the earlier one and will not fit with the stock seat.

In regard to the 550 tank it won't work without modding the front of the tank.
