OH YEAH!!  8)

Honestly dude, that block wall probably saved your bacon. It absorbed a lot of force coming apart like that. If all of your kinetic energy went into a solid wall that didn't budge, you'd probably be a lot worse off.

Never thought I'd say it, but I'd rather hit a block wall than a solid retaining wall or something like that.

You thought you were in 4th, and decided that was an appropriate gear to start in?
I still don't get it? None of my bikes would ever move from a dead start in 4th without stalling?

Hope you heal up quick.

With just a little clutching it will pull pretty smooth from 3rd. 4th would be pretty hard on the clutch. I was messing around with the gears while I was waiting fir the rest of my group to get ready.

If the trail 90 was road legal then I would be using it. The 550 is still bump start only so its still a little much for me now.

Check the CBR over again today, front end and radiator then Im good to go. Gonna naked' it.

Thanks for the well wishes. Wear yourrr gearrr

11 stitches in my face (not to sure how that happened with the helmet)

Wow!  Imagine what would have happened without a helmet!   :o

Since you're in a good mood and alive...

I recall reading in the thread where you talked about getting that bike and you weren't a fan of the paint scheme, but there are easier ways to remove the plastics.  Probably not as permanent though.

...and that wall.  Wow.  It makes me think of "The 10 Commandments" when Moses says something to the effect that "blood does not make good mortar."  Seems to me that you bled a LOT on that wall.

I remember reading you ride report on your cross country trip. One line struck me and stayed with me. "There will always be an outcome." Well you have had an outcome, a pretty good considering.  ;D

Hope you heal up quick!   Those sudden un-intended stops tend to hurt.

I am doing alright, finger is back at about 40% of use and I just took the last of the stitches out of my face.

However my arm is going to need surgery to set the bones. I guess they don't like to stay in place. The prices I have been told so far are insane and its almost been three weeks. Three weeks seems like a long time when your bones are trying to poke out of your arm. I am going to have to do SOMETHING soon.

Anyone know a surgeon who wants to do a plate on the cheap...  :(

On a better note, I pulled (fumbled) the front end off the CBR and the frame/steering head is good so a naked bike project is in my future.

Not riding is killing me.
