engine bore cost
« on: April 06, 2011, 09:22:37 AM »
Where can I get my in engine bored in or near Boston? Some things I just can't do myself just yet. How about what an average engine bore should cost?
What am I doing and why am I doing it? Those are excellent questions.

Most shops charge 40 per hole for going 1 or two sizes larger. When going to 836 on a 750 prices goes to 50 per hole. And that would included boring, precision honing to desired wall  finish and proper piston/cylinder bore clearance.

That's what I charge here at M3 Racing

That's very helpful. I'm doing my first complete top to bottom overhaul and have always wanted to upgrade. I'll be back with many, many questions. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I just bought yet another engine that I'm stripping down and depending on it's condition inside, i may or may not bore it out.

For some reason, I get more pleasure out of taking them apart than I do putting them back together. :P

What am I doing and why am I doing it? Those are excellent questions.
