Hello PNW
« on: April 14, 2011, 05:48:13 AM »
First off I'd like to say thanks Jerry for spending so much of his time getting this thing going.
Thanks Jerry!

My real name is Greg.
I have never done anything like this before so I hope I can fulfill my responsibilities with out to many f ups. I should mention that I work a full time job with out internet access during the day so my response time to your pm's or emails might take up to 24 hours, sometimes more.
I haven't been looking at the map yet to figure out where this tour inters our area. That's the first thing I'll do and then I'll start contacting riders on the list to ask where they'd be willing to go. My goal is to have the route figured out and posted within a month or so. That way all the riders in the PNW can look at where it goes through their area and try to hook up with other riders.

Cool, I haven't commited yet mainly because
1. my bike has yet to be started, and
2. because I have not read any tentative dates yet.
I know its hard to pinpoint but as soon as we get an idea of when this actually comes to the Seattle area I should be able to participate. Thanks for the courage to step up!

Greg!

Rob here.
I'm up in the Snohomish area.  Happy to ride or meet anywhere between Renton/Mercer Island and Arlington/Mount Vernon for the relay.

Greg, I am in....  It would be really cool if the dates coordinate with the Isle of Vashon.

I also think us PNW riders in the Seattle area should meet up for a beer to work on the planning.

Hey greg, whatever job you do it will be 100% more than what some of us are doing, including mostly myself. Your efforts are much appreciated.

I'm with BrandEn on why I haven't committed yet. Still getting things worked out with the bike. I want it to be fairly reliable before I take it on a road trip. I have yet to ride it outside of west seattle. At the momment it's at Jim's Southend getting some things sorted out and I hope this is it. Once it's purring like a kitten I will be up for some meet and greets. Like I mentioned in the other PNW thread, I am looking forward to Backfire moto nights. Or like the cretins, we can do our own SOHC4-PNW Chapter meets at a less crowded venue with a nice road ride before hand.

Hey Duanob whats your thought/experience with Jims Southend? Any good?

Well they're nice guys and seem to know their shyte. But so far they haven't touched my bike. I brought it in last saturday and they said they would get to it tuesday. then it was wednesday, then it was thursday. Today is friday, if they haven't got to it by now I'm taking it home and F'ing with it myself. Tomorrow is suppose to be really nice and the wife is out of town so I feel like going for a nice long ride. I've heard nothing but good things and happy customers about their workmanship. A lot better than Twinline's reviews.

I had to leave by 7 just as things were heating up. Were you riding one of the gray 400s? I saw a pair, one looked pretty nice and other was still a project.

I saw Ardilla's bike there:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=79373.msg986185#msg986185

But only for a minute then he was gone. Saw a super sweet early CB750 Cafe in green. Fun stuff I hope I can make the next round.
