PNW rider
« on: April 08, 2011, 08:10:34 PM »
Hello from Washington State. If I didn't ride in the rain I wouldn't ever ride... well that's mostly true. Glad to be here. I'm restoring a lovely '72 CB750K2. As she is mostly stock I intend to keep her that way and original. I'm not going to powder coat the frame or switch to electronic ignition, etc.

Hello K2 and welcome. Like I tell all new members, post some pictures of your project. I give you a big + on keeping your bike in stock trim. Good luck with it ;)

I've got pics ready but I'm having trouble setting up the gallery account... so here she is when I first got her, and on our first road trip together.

Nice 8) Did you repaint the tank or was that done by the PO?

I can't take credit- it was done by a pro at some point. There are some really fine and nicely done pinstriping details on the tank and side covers. I'll have to get some close-ups. I would have a hard time painting over all that so I probably won't unless time and weathering requires it.

Up in Seattle here, I go to Longview sometimes though and ride just across the Lewis and Clark bridge in Oregon. I can't remember the area but it's got curvy roads that nobody drives on. I'll try to let you know next time I go. Maybe July 4th weekend.

Sweet! The pic of with the bike all loaded-down with gear is on the OR30 from Longview/St. Helens to Astoria. It's a great ride and there's a way back through Montessano up to Olympia. Let me know.

I used to live in Washougal for a couple of years. The Washougal River road up to Dougan falls is awesome on 2 wheels if you ever get up there in the summer.
