Cam chain tensioner problem
« on: April 11, 2006, 12:22:55 AM »
Hey Guys,

I am in the process of getting my 76 750F back together and I wanted to adjust the cam chain tension.  So I followed the directions in my shop manual but their is a problem.  The mark on the spark advance that is supposed to be 15 degrees behind the F or T mark (don't have the manual in front of me so I don't remember which mark) is not there.  Just to clarify, their is no mark after the F and T to
rotate to to set the cam chain tension.  So??? Is this an aftermarket part? or one from a different model????  Is this year or F specific?  I want to adjust the tension but also want to make sure I have the right parts to begin with.  Many thanks in advance for the help I will recieve with this.

Thanks,

Clint

There really is not separate "mark," but rather you use the spring post as a reference point. Check this posting out. Open/print the instructions that Jonesy attached. Good luck.
