The CB750K0 project that I am currently working on has 2 sets of three punches next to the engine number.

I understatnd that they mark an execution of a HONDA service release (bulletin), but does anyone know exactly which service?

Cheers, Rene

Nobody?

I went through the pile of HONDA service bulletins, but I could only fine a "three-punch" for the rear wheel hub dampener rubbers modification.

Maybe I should try my luck on the sandcast-only forum?

Cheers, Rene

Rene,

Ik zal ook nog even door mijn stapel papieren heenlopen, het zal pas morgen avond worden eer ik thuis ben.

Google translate says:

"I will also go through my stack of papers now run, it will be until tomorrow evening before I get home."

i don't know the answer.   we would do that on rods and end caps so they would be properly paired but i don't know why you would do it to a block.  perhaps an indication of previous machine work ?   i've seen automotive blocks marked in a similar manner but don't remember why.
maybe something like this:

Thanks all.

The three marks definetely mean that the dealer has performed a service that was instructed by HONDA US.

The three punches mark "service bulletin executed". I just wonder which service bulletins are meant.

I've found reference in my original Honda bulletins that there was a procedure with which the three center-punch marks had to be stamped.
It's in a Honda Service Bulletin which orders for: CB-750 recall for drive system modification. (750 #32)( 8/9/71)
From frame serial number range CB750-1000001 through CB750-1044649 (pre-K1 model series).

René if you want the article I can scan and email it to you.

Groeten,
Nap

Thanks for finding and posting that.  From what it says, there were 2 recalls for the same thing.  If they used x3 marks each time it would explain why Rene's case has 2 sets.

Thanks indeed!

I thought I had al the service Release Bulletins, but it seems now that I have a gap from 25-34....

I got this book many years ago from Bill Silver, before he moved to Hawaii. He didn't want to bring it in his move, so he posted a message on the VJMC mailinglist that he wanted to let it go.

Anyway, I have now printed #32. This one makes at half clear, I will read it and see if the service has been done properly.

I don't think Service #32 has been worked out twice on this bike. There is Probably another SRB that clears the second set of punches, do't you think so?

Cheers, Rene
