my $30 exhaust
« on: March 28, 2011, 08:26:20 AM »
I bought a couple of $20 dollar 4-2 headers, they were chrome and rust but solid.Put on some $5 muffler bends(with home made baffles in them)spray painted it high temp silver(would have done black, but thats all I had on hand)((dont care))and W'alla, exhaust ala rat. They aren't attached so if they look cockeyed its because they are.

Could you show your baffle?  Here is my take on the idea with a MAC 4 into 1.  I have a hunch it'll run better with a baffle.  Without it seems to sound identical to the  yosh replica posted by another member.

sorry,I havent gotten around to the video yet,but Holy Shnikeys, the difference in the powerband is ridiculous, more torque right off the get go,more throttle response(almost feels like a two stroke)Sounds mean as hell, yet quiet enough at Idle.I solved my oil leaks, cleaned the carbs and with this silly exhaust it runs like a bat outta hell(for an old dog that is)I let my buddies ride it who know my bike andf they were impressed.Sorry purists but this actually works.AND,how about those copper ends? ;D 8)

Crush bends?  MEIN EYES!  For as cheap as you can get mandrel bends on ebay, I can't see skimping on the look of an otherwise pretty nice bike.
