i cant change my avatar to what it was once,its entity is too big,all the ones ive used are all too big now?has the upload size diminished since the rework?

Try to "downsize" your photograph or image.  There is a limit but I'm not sure if it got smaller.  You can downsize your image with photo management software like Picasa.  You can also reference an image from another site like photobucket or Picasa Web... or anywhere on the web the photo exists.
