An intellectual snob friend argued that a motorcycle is a misnomer, because technically it's got an "engine", and not a motor.. defining that as a motor turning one form of energy into another, and engine as a marriage of systems built around a 'motor'. I argued that "enginecycle" sounded ridiculous, and that his assertion would ruin songs by Springsteen, Steppenwolf and many many others..
a little look at definitions and it sort of looks like he might be right.
