Yeah - well done on getting the job Adfam, must feel great to be earning a quid again after moving across the world.

Won't be long soon until there is a CB750 sized hole in Terry's garage then.

And Terry and Adam, if you need help moving bike parts from house to house, let me know.

Happy to use my 4WD to pile bike parts in for transport from Terry's to Adam's to keep them dry.

Thanks guys. I guess the other person(s) who applied for the same job didn't have any experience on a lift. I got on lift to show them I know how to drive and before I even moved they said, "Yeah, your better than the other guy. We can tell you know what you're doing. You don't even have to do anything." I insisted that I at least pick up a pallet and move it somewhere else, but I guess I didn't need to. They were more concerned with me being able to drive a standard. I haven't driven one over here, but I've driven manual cars since I was 13. I'll just have to get used to using my left hand.

Maduncle, I'm not sure if we'll need help or not? You're welcome to come along if you want. Terry hasn't told me anything about what's going on. Saturday is my wife's birthday, but I don't think we'll be doing anything until the evening. We'll probably go to a pub somewhere around us. If you guys want to join you're welcome to. We've got a few local mates that'll be out with us, but not a big crew.

Hey I am free all day Saturday and happy to lend a hand shifting bike stuff from one place to another - just PM me to let me know.

Well done Adam, and if your folks are gonna be staying awhile, I might have enough bits for a couple more CB750's, but you might need a bigger greenhouse? Ha ha, just joking mate.... ;D

Saturday morning I'm hoping to get my BMW over to Jeff at Ace for a dodgy roadworthy inspection, then I have to meet up with the BMW Club red plate registrar to have him countersign my application form.

Hopefully I'll be ready to start ferrying parts over in the afternoon, that's my window as the wife has given me strict instructions about Sunday. (Mothers Day) Cliff, if you want to give me a hand that'd be great, I'm not supposed to use the company ute on weekends, so if you've got plenty of room in your car, that'd be great. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well, I had a good first day at work. The place is real laid back. I like it. I drove for the first time since getting here. I guess I'm the only one in the warehouse with a (valid) drivers license. I even had a nice chat with the owner who supposedly isn't very chatty. It was pretty rad to see an old guy (owner) in nice slacks, dress shoes, and dress shirt pull into the warehouse and bust out a chainsaw. One of the warehouses has some renovations going on and he was cutting up some of the lumber to burn. I had to fix his chainsaw. He could only get it to start for a few seconds then nothing. I told him I'd take a look and found it was out of petrol. I kept my distance while he was cutting. He seemed to be having fun, but didn't seem very safety conscious. I almost said something a couple times, but hey, he's the boss. He seems like a nice guy and I'm glad I'm working there.

Back to real news. I'll make sure I'm around the house Saturday whenever you guys say you'll be here. I'll even have some cold ones waiting. I'm ready to get back on a motorbike, or at least turn some wrenches again. It'll also be nice to put faces to some screen names over here. This is a good week at mi casa!

Hey Terry - how about you pretend to be me and I pretend to be you and when we meet Adam?

Just to confuse the poor bugger a bit.

That's not my real face mate. I'm a little bit self-concious about my face, you see, I disfigured my mug pretty badly in a crash many years ago, leaving a pretty deep vertical cleft from my forehead all the way down to my jaw.

As you can imagine, I don't post any untouched pics of my face, and I really appreciate that every one from this site who've met me haven't mentioned it here, but I thought I'd just mention it, because it's really obvious, and it can be pretty confronting for someone who's never seen me in real life.

I'm kind of embarrassed telling you all this, and once again I'd like to thank Cliff and Peter for not spilling the beans, or referring to me as "c-untface", as some un-kinder folks have over the years. Here's a pic of the real me, if you can stand to look at it. I've left some space below this post so that you don't have to if you don't want to, it's up to you. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I just thought you'd be the taller one, Terry. For some reason I feel like I remember reading something about you being tall.

We're both tall Adam, but I'm massively overweight and have a face like a dropped pie. You won't confuse me with Cliff, he's dreamy............ ;D

Phase one of the mission accomplished right Terry?

It was great to meet you Adam (and your lovely wife whose name has escaped me), you have an interesting project ahead of you now, with a greenhouse full of bike parts.

We will be sure to swing by again soon - now it's time for you to start that 'An American building a Japanese bike in Australia' thread...

Sorry Cliff, too drunk to type right now, damn my alcoholism! BTW, thanks Adam, this scotch is superb! (And Adam's lovely wife's name is Abby) Great day guys, I really enjoyed meeting up and drinking your beer! Cheers, Terry. ;D

It was good meeting you guys too. I think I'll start the project by getting some cleaning supplies. I'll start a build thread when I get a chance too.

G'day mates! I'm still alive, if you were wondering. I've been pretty busy with work, and the free beer I get after work. :o Hopefully I'll get started on the bike today. I have to take my washing machine apart to try to fix it, and I'm waiting for our bed to be delivered. I'm so ready for a king size pillow top bed after sleeping on an air mattress for a couple months! Anyway, I think I'll get started on my carbs after I get through my "honey do" list. Oh yeah, does anyone plan on going to the tradie expo down Racecourse Rd. this weekend? At the showgrounds.... I think it's called? I may go to see if I can pick up a few tools. I'll let you all know if anything good is there (if I go).

G'Day Adam, enjoy that bed mate, airbeds suck! What's wrong with your washing machine? I'm working today (Army Reserves) and boring Cliffs 450 cylinders tomorrow, plus doing heaps of work on the BMW (lots of new parts have arrived) so I won't be going to the tradies show at the Showgrounds (you'll have to take Abby to the Melbourne Show in September) but let us know what you find, I love cool tools! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Water pump issue on the washing machine. I've done a little research online and I may just be able to take the pump apart and clean it, but I may have to get a new pump. Have fun working on the beemer and the 450.

If you need parts for your washer let me know, there's a place not for from where I'm working next week that sells washing machine parts, too far for you on your bicycle, but no problem for me. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I had to get a new pump for the washer. It was only $50 on ebay. Yeah Stev-o, free beer! My wife and I were on our yearly raw food detox diet last week, so I didn't have a beer all week. That's the worst part of the diet. It's over now though! Oh yeah, I finally started a build thread. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=107871.0#top
