1 -62 BSA.  Tank buggared, Carb buggared, Magneto buggared, primary chain and clutch buggared,  Cylinder head manifold cracked, Electrical buggared at the factory. 432 (est.) case leaks repaired.

2- 74 CB550.  Bought as salvage after nasty crash, motor, and triples unbent, everything else bent and replaced or straightened, including frame  Had to toss the case guards.  But, they did their job.

3 - 75 Cb550F.  Bought as parts bike, tank and carbs corroded unusable.  Few parts work as spares for the 74 K.  So, I collected more parts to make it back into a runner, still needs tires and fork seals, though it is drivable.

4 - 77 CB550F.  Sat in garage for 15 years.  8000 miles on it.  I saved it from going to the junk yard. Tires, carbs, battery, chain/sprockets, brakes, fork seals, and a whole lot of cleaning/polishing, made this one of my best bikes.

5 - 76 CB550F.  Bought from wreckers for $300. (I was just looking for parts!)  Wire harness burned/melted, rectifier destroyed, Chain/sprockets, carbs, sprockets, battery, tires, seat, brake rebuild, factory new side covers, and replacement cam cover and cam.

6 - 78 CB550K  Previous owner had the bike stolen and stripped.  A year later he decided to sell it as it had been parked in his carport (a roller), untouched.  I found/bought all the missing parts to complete the bike and restore to roadworthy.

7 - 75 Cb550K.  Was an abandon bike.  Some dumbass tried to convert to cafe style by throwing away lots of parts, but still had King queen seat!?  Tank internal rust, outside of tank already repainted, carbs sedimented, clutch would disengage with sharp left turn due to short narrow bars and very bad cable routing.  Cam cover/cam wear issues, electrical corrosion issues.  Old Koni shocks frozen and too long.
I fixed the bike and made it a nice machine, rode it for a little while.  I eventually sold this bike three times!

8 - 77 CB750F  Another abandon bike refurbished to road worthy.  Acquired for free.  Still needs paint, though.

9 - 85 CB700S.  Oil leaks and lots of neglect lack of repair prowess by owner.  Free.  Tires, starter, battery, turn sigs, windshield, carb clean.  And lots of cleaning/polishing, all made it a pretty nice machine.

There are more "in progress", but aren't yet road worthy.  (I probably spend too much time on this forum.)

Both my CA95, and my CB500/4 were sitting unused for years.  I wouldn't say they were rotting, but certainly being neglected.

while maybe yes, self-immolation seems to be more a suicide move than a death-by-neglect.  So you really just kept your bike from kevorkianizing itself. ;D

1 77 cb550

It was in terrible condition when I bought it. It would barely start up, locked front brake, bent handlebars, rusty carbs. Probably would be a parts bike to the average joe. I wouldn't say its done by any stretch of the imagination. But, I put a lot of work into it and put 100 miles on it yesterday, so I think it counts. And because it is my first bike ever, it is responsible for my new found love of motorcycles and more specifically my unexplainable love for SOHC4 hondas.

1 CB750F, my daily rider and rolling project. Neglected by my father-in-law to rot on his patio.

1 CB450SC, to be a wifes commuter (when i don't take it for a spin). Abandoned at a shop, guess the owner didn't want to pay the bill and just left the bike there. Traded hands a few times before it got to me, missing lots of parts still. The guy I got it from was about to start cutting on it for a project, I dig bobber projects but he didn't seem to care for the Honda, he wanted a triumph.

24 or so.  None of which ran when I started, all of which ran and were road-worthy when I sold 'em.  :)

Some of 'em, I did more than once!  On a couple, they ran when I sent 'em away, and they came back 3 or 4 years later needing ressurection all over again.

Wow!  40 or 50 and all the same model?  How do you keep the enthusiasm up?  I find myself getting bored with doing the same fix-up / ressurection tasks over and over.  Ho-hum, another bank of carbs, another fork rebuild, another batch of engine cover polishing...

Kinda embarrased to say I've only done one. But it didn't run, the brakes didn't work, the forks were shot, most chrome had been scraped and dented, the electrical was a mess, paint was bad, missing emblems, seat was a 70's reject. Does that count for a resurrection from the dead? I was tempted to part it out myself several times, happy today I didn't!  ;D
