Looking at a truck at a local dealer.  Look at the steering wheel.  Does that not look "dented?"  How do you reckon it got that way?  http://pricedrightautosalesllc.com/pictures/1198

Definitely looks bent.  Used to I would have said somebody's face or chest smacked into it in a wreck, but with an airbag that's not very likely anymore.  I suppose the force of a person (not wearing a seatbelt) hitting the airbag and pushing it into the steering wheel could do the same thing.

Could also be a previous owner is an angry driver and beats on the steering wheel a lot.

Think I got on the road in front of this guy a while back. Seemed to be kinda upset about not being in the lead anymore.

Good point, I didn't think about that.  A '98 should have definitely had an airbag.  I guess I'll look at/under the front end if I go see it...

Roach, you hit this one right on the money. I worked doing repo's for a while and we had to break steering wheel clubs once in a while. GM steering wheels are notorious for bending just like that if the club is mounted in the wrong position. It is pretty easy to get the wheel straight again, but you'll want to unplug the horn, lolol.

Is that assertion based on the steering wheel or something else?

Wish I still had my s-10. I noticed a dent in the front bumper and the bottom air dam on the bumper is gone.
98 does indeed have airbags. my 95 did on both sides.

I will offer a slightly different opinion .. Really good sex in the front seat lead to an arched back re-shaping the steering wheel?
