CB550F Carb Kits & 069A Carb
« on: April 02, 2011, 07:45:31 PM »
I ordered Keyster KH-0151 carb kits from Jerrys Cycles, but alas - they donot look like they will work with my 550F 069A carbs.  The obvious probelm is the bowl gasket.  The one in the kit is rectangular (4 sides), but my bowl is five sided. See pics.  Has anyone else had this issue?  I called Jerry and they said I could send them back and they'd give me credit (except postage) - but it seems like he is marketing the incorrect kit.

These are the right carbs for 76 CB550F, aren't they?  That's what the FAQ shows.

I looked at Jerrys site, to see if I could see a kit that had the 5 sided bowl gasket but found nothing.  Where can I find what I need?

Well, maybe you should try Honda?

that gasket is nothing like it!are the other parts correct?some kits come with a circular rubber gasket you have to super glue it in a couple of spots to fit them, the main jet in the pack is wrong aswell, its a screw in one for pd carbs im guessing, might be a case of wrongly marked packaging?dont open them and demand the correct replacements at no cost.

I wouldn't trust anything in that Keyster kit to be correct.
You were clearly sold the wrong parts, and the label for it is a lie.

Thanks for the help guys, I will talk with him.

So, a lot of the photos of kits I see have a round rubber bowl gasket - like the Honda Kit that TwoTired showed in his reply.  I didn't realize you have to form this to fit the bowl.  I have been looking for kits with a gasket already shaped like my bowl.  duhhhhhhhh.

a speck of super glue in the corners holds them while you assemble it,your contents in that pack are way wrong,i cant even think what that gasket fits?

Well, I talked with Jerry at Jerry's Cycles.  He was very nice about it and agreed they were the wrong carb kits. He said he does have the correct ones and will send them - no postage charged.

Kudos to Jerry Collins@ Jerrys Cycles.  The correct carb kits arrived, and there was even six bucks in the box to cover the shipping.  Carbs are all put together now and awaiting test.
