Hey guys I am slogging through a major restoration of a 80 CB750 Supersport, really cool bike but I am stymied at the moment because after replacing the starter (seized) and the solenoid (seized) and the battery (missing) and a lot of the wiring (corroded) I can get the bike to turn over, but not very quickly. I am getting spark at all wires which is good, but every time I hit the button, it seems like the motor turns over a little too slowly. Not a death crawl by any means but it seems like the battery is almost dead, although the motor will turn over at this slow rate for a long time until I drain the battery. Battery is brand new and showing 12.8v, there is oil in there, most of the starter wiring is new from the batt to the solenoid to the starter itself, both the starter and solenoid were bought used off ebay but I bench tested them and they seemed fine, so Im not sure what the issue is here.
One other thing tho is the clutch handle is very hard to pull in. I havent tackled that one yet could be a rusty cable or whatever, but I thought it might be related. Any advice to point me in the right direction would be appreciated. Here is what I have done so far:
clean out tank
clean carbs
rebuild brakes
replace starter solenoid, starter, starter wires
replace bulbs and fuses as needed
replace battery
