North Carolina storms !
« on: April 17, 2011, 05:05:06 AM »
Were any SOHC 4 members in the path of the severe storms that tore through parts of the state yesterday. For about 30 min. we had severe winds and heavy rains, and some hell, but never lost power. I live in Greensboro, only damage to my house was some loose siding. I know the Raleigh area was hit hard. I've heard 35 deaths have been reported across 6 states, 4 in NC. What a terrible thing. You just never know what can happen in just a blink of a eye

the cell that picked up strength over me is the one that took out the Lowes store in Sanford.   got a bit sporty around here but no serious damage or injuries that i know of.

Yeah they showed what was left of the Lowe's on the morning news. I couldn't even really tell what it was. Looked like a war zone :(

I have gone into the aftermath of a F4 tornado, complete devastation to no damage 50 feet outside the travel path of the funnel.  Two story homes beat down to the foundation and plumbing stacks.

We need to build like hobbits!

We're in Chatham County and missed the worst of it.  The tornado outbreak happened south and east of us.  We (in our corner of the county) got lucky.
