Frame "collar" part of engine mount....
« on: April 18, 2011, 08:28:24 PM »
Hey all - I'm back! Spent all winter working on my parents' house so they could retire to sunnier climes. This week in a fit of rage (it started snowing yesterday... ) I unbolted everything I could from the frame of my CB500. I know - stupid. It took about an hour or two for my rational mind to take hold again. It whispered "in a few days it will be warm - and you will have a pile of parts to ride!" So I'm trying to reassemble the mess. Specifically - can anyone tell me about the little steel puck and the steel spool labeled "collar" ( #5 and #6 in this diagram: http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb500-500-four-k0-usa_model459/partslist/F++36.html ) These parts are the only ones I did not see the place for.

I'm assuming that they just provide a standoff from the frame in those areas?

As always, thanks for humoring me! I should have started this thread last September... but that's neither here nor there!

#5 goes against the frame on the right hand side and the footpeg long bolt goes through it and the engine,#6 goes on the left side and the upper rear engine bolt goes through it.,once you get the engine into place with the front brackets and bolts it will become apparent what goes where.
