for a buddy -- 69 cafe
« on: April 19, 2011, 05:44:52 AM »
Here's what my buddy is working on - will end up on "Cafe Racer" tv show soon.   Is a '69 hopped up to an 836.  CR carbs.  rear is from a Yamaha seca.
Stainless exhaust with bends, cones etc from  Cone Engineering.    I'll find some more photos tonight and post them.  Should be a ridiculously fun bike.

Look closely at the hubs/discs.... not fair.

That's pretty unreasonably kick ass  ;D :o

How much does the suspension sink with someone on it?

It looks more severe in photos than it really is.   It keeps the original geometry of the yamaha seca's rear.  The front isn't actually lowered.  So the steering geometry should be close to the original.

I can't remember what the hubs are. He got them from Italy - there aren't many of those floating around yet.  That's his new thing....he only has a minimal amount of cash in the actual bike - it was already rebuilt to an 836.  All the money is tied up in the hubs, rims, spokes and of course the CR carbs.

I'll try and get him to snap some more photos - this was pretty much accomplished over the last week.

I dig this bike a lot. Anyone know what headlight that is? Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that a big ass lamp? I like it!  ;D
