I want to use a Dyna III and not the "S" - bigger better spark. Who has the best price, anybody got a number/site?

Here's a wild thought, go with a Dyna S at $120.00 from Z1 Ent. then pick up a set of hot coils then add some Iridium plugs. You should still stay under $300.00 this way and have plenty of spark to ignite whatever you're running.

I'm very sure the Dyna 3 is not available for the CB anymore.

Call the Dyna manufacturer directly. They are really really nice and knowledgeab and I think they sell their own products directly.

Dyna pretty much discontinued the Dyna 3 a couple of years ago, which is a pity because it is a great ignition, particularly when matched with the green 3 ohm coils.

Trouble is, people didn't want to pay the extra over the Dyna "S" for the "3". I was lucky enough to score a used CB750 Dyna 3 on Ebay a couple of weeks ago for $49.95 because the seller misspelt "Dyna", ha ha, check it out! Cheers, Terry.

The Dyna 3 did not have bigger better spark. It was just old technology. We haven't sold one of those in 20 years.

I was wondering what is the difference between the Dyna S and Dyna 3.
Why would you go for one over the other besides the obvious price difference?
I had the option between the 2, and ended up with the Dyna S and 3 ohm coils.
Did I make the wrong choice?

It's been a good 3 years since Dynatek discontinued the Dyna III setups - I remember Dyna have a few left in 2004, but they have long since gone.. While they do work well, far too many of the boxes get mounted under the tank and subjected to heat. The Dyna-S comes with a warranty if purchased new.

And that's the problem, because there's not too many places on a CB750 where you can mount one externally. If you do find a good one though, they do produce an nice fat spark, I had one with the green coils, and compared to a new points plate and OEM coils that I replaced with the Dyna 3, it was incredible, you could just about weld with it, ha ha! Not saying that it was better than the Dyna S and green coils I've got on my K2 now, but I reckon it definately threw a fatter brighter spark! Cheers, Terry.

My new (old) Dyna 3 ignition arrived yesterday, in remarkably good condition, so I think I'll mount it on my K1 Kruiser and ditch the points. Anyone got a good set of Dyna 3 ohm coils for sale? (cheap?) Cheers, Terry.

On the front left rail below the left sidecover...right in the crotch there...just enough romm. That's on F's and F2's. I had one there for over 12 years.

If you go to the gallery and look at my bike(personal albums,page 4,pic # 1-the right side) You will see my Dyna 2000 box right behind the kick starter under the pod filters.What I did was make a U shape bracket and mount the tops to the tabs that used to hold the upper stock air box on.The 2000 box is rubber mounted to the bottom of that bracket.I couldn't find a suitable place anywhere on the bike to mount it.I asked people here where they mounted their's but got no replies.Now if you are running stock air box,I still wouldn't know where it could be mounted.
