TINY PILOT JET, WHAT THE EFF???
« on: April 20, 2006, 06:19:36 AM »
I was rebuilding my carbs last night with K&L kits for my 500, and the new pilot jet is a 40, but it is phisically 1/2 the size in diameter, and 3/4 the length.
The carbs were originally from a 71', did they change the design?
the jet needs to be somewhat below the fuel level right?

Probably gave you the wrong one.s  in the kit.
         the model/yr/application is stamped on the end
       carb. and  the length{size} does matter for fuel pickup.
            {Any Pic's}
       Hope it helps

Sounds like a typical K&L or Keyster carb kit.........either comes with the wrong parts or extra parts you cant use.

Did you get most of the parts you need??

If you just need the pilot jets....I can probadly get those.

Later,
