« on: April 19, 2011, 06:09:40 PM »
need the plain silver tank trim for a 750K0, I can find it in England (DSS) or the Netherlands or Yamima (japan), Is there really nowhere to get in in U.S. or Canada?

I got some great tank trim on Ebay a couple of years ago.  Sadly, I don't remember the name of the seller.  It was a great product at a very reasonable price.  You may want to see if he still sell.

There's only one thing on eBay right now. It's a universal trim piece, looks sorta ok, maybe not really correct.

Why don't you want to order from DSS?

I order from DSS a few times a year, and shipping time and cost has always been on par with domestic suppliers.

It's not a stock replacement by any means, but my local Auto Zone sells door edge trim that comes in chrome, gold (gross), and black.  It's actually a good part, I've used it on several builds.

I have used trim material available to me locally. It is thinner, and less metal, more plastic than the original. I buy it by the foot at the local Mercado Publico (swap meet) and is available at AutoZone, O'Rielly, CarQuest, etc. It's fine for 'driver quality' bikes, and is seamless- no need for the extra trim clamp pieces. I have a good independent auto parts supplier here, so next time I'm going to go through their catalogs with them and see if there's something available that's closer to what our bikes use.
