Ugliest bike out there
« on: April 14, 2006, 08:55:28 AM »
Since there was a thread on how ugly the Rune was, I'll throw it out- what comes to mind for the ugliest of ugly? I'll go ahead and nominate my canidate- the Suzuki RE5 rotary.

Whatcha got?

I think anything that has the big old FAT fenders. I HATE fat fenders. So I consider the old harleys and indians to be the pinnacle of UGLY!!!!!

When I worked at the V-twin shop, I voiced my opinion about V-Rods all the time.
Everyone their ,customers and employees knew how I felt about that bike.
They are ugly, uncomftable, overpriced (as every HD is), and def. did not live up to all the
hype that Harley made it out to be..

My first thought was the Suzuki Hayabusa.  But after carefull consideration, I will have to go with the "Nearacar"

The only part of a Hayabusa I've ever seen is the tail light.

There are some aspects of the V-rod styling that I like, but then the Loony-Tunes style exhaust pipe ruins the whole works....

I've always heard that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and for me there is nothing ugly
about the Indian Chief w/ the skirted fenders (50'-53'). Now, about ugly about the ugliest bike I've
seen is the Rune, next to that would be that Suzuki Nearacar that Phaedrus posted and after that
would be Ariel Leader (I think that's what it was called). I never was a fan of the Harley but, you
have to know that my Grandfather & my Dad had an Indian dealership and were naturally down on
Harleys (and I mean no offence to those who own or have owned them, it's just my own
preference and I wouldn't treat a person any different because of what he rides). Later on, Bill

I just saw a BMW copy of a full dress Harley cruiser- it was done up to cartoon proportions- stock!  It looked like it weighed more than a car, and absolutely cost more than an average car.  Insane!

I can see the romance of the horizontally opposed boxer R series, and although the K series is enormous, I can see it is kinda neat and I can appreaciate that it must be THE bike for some guys.. But the big-ass German clone of a kitted out cruiser!

R1200CLC I think it's called..  Oh well, to each their own!  :-)

Like Bill 440 I love old Indians with valanced fenders, and I like Harleys too. They're great bikes, and their owners can be just as stupid as anyone else, intelligence isn't measured by mode of transport, which is probably lucky for us, ha ha!

I reckon any half-assed "Cafe" bike with the 16 inch Harley rim on the back, "Slugman" bars with miles of spare OEM cable and hoses protruding from the front is enough to make me just shake my head and wander off................. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I'd have to go with the Suzuki Intruder 1400......then cyclezirk said Boss Hoss. Tough one.
Are Boss Hoss owners coompensating for something?

Whoa! After reading the above, I looked for and found boss hoss cycles. Yikes! Technically it's a bike because it has 2 wheels.

Yeah, I remember the AMA magazine did a review on the latest Boss Hoss with a 502ci motor. Thats an 8.2 liter V8 with a two speed automatic transmission! The tester said you could balance it on the tires without the sidestand down! I think it weighed about 1200 lbs or something crazy like that. I guess its the Hummer of bikes.
