That would be strange because unlike tiled or slated roofs, the corrugated iron ties the whole roof structure together, making it stronger...   I have never seen a corrugated iron roof replaced because of hail, not that it hasn't happened... ;)

I guess they are determined to keep people employed in Norman, they had a lot of goofy covenants in Wichita that said you were only allowed to have wood shingle roofs for the subdivisions. Made no sense whatsoever, tornado alley is one place you don't want wood shingle roofs, that's for sure.

This one has skip sheeting and shakes under the architectural composition shingles. I think in a tornado  metal might even be worse.  They would both be destroyed, but a wood shingle is less likely to take your head off or cut you in half.

The big scare of shakes and composition is the ten plus square mile fire-storms that have been popping up everywhere from here to Texas. Drought and 60 mph gusts are like dynamics of a  forge.
