electrical question about LED marker lights
« on: July 28, 2011, 06:46:08 PM »
1976 CB750F
i have rewired the whole bike, utilizing relays for the hi beams, the low beams, the horn, and fog lights not yet hooked up.
fog lights will be LED as well
question concerns my front marker lights on my windjammer
my dash lights, markers, and main headlight feed are wired thru a toggle switch.
dash lights are super bright blue led's, standard windjammer 7 sealed beam headlight, and super bright white LED marker lights (same bulb as dash lights)
my marker lights dont come on.  they only flash once (like a power surge) when i flip OFF the headlight toggle.........all these lights are wired thru the toggle
question is.......AM i misunderstanding something here?  do these marker lights need a seperate 12v feed?  the markers are separate from the turn signals
my turn signal bulbs and my tail/brake light bulbs are ordered....and yes I know I need electronic flasher for the turn signals.
thanks in advance.  MATT

i may have answered my own question................mebb the headlight is consuming to much power for all the leds to work properly.
when i get the led fog light bulbs, i will put the dash and marker led's on the new toggle for the fogs, that way they and the headlight  are on separate circuits.
the flash could be the power from the headlights voltage/amperage  spiking when i flip them off.

happens motor running and not running
did a jumper wire test on just the markers and they work that way, so I think i need to pull em off the headlight circuit.
