No More 'Dead Red' Lights in KS

Bikers to get green light on 'dead reds'
Quote
How long can a motorcyclist sit at a red light waiting for it to change?
Relief came this week with Gov. Sam Brownback's signature on House Bill 2192, which will allow motorcycle and bicycle riders to proceed through an intersection — with caution — after waiting a reasonable amount of time for the light to turn green.

Top Kansas speed limit rising to 75 mph
Quote
Kansas motorists will soon be able to drive 75 mph - legally - on designated parts of divided four-lane highways.

Gov. Sam Brownback has signed legislation raising the state's maximum speed limit from the current 70 mph. The change takes effect July 1 and lets the transportation secretary decide where to post the higher limits.

A reasonable amount of time is about as long as a country mile, and subject to as much interpretation.

Troopers and the legislature like the money speeding fines bring in, how long did it take for them to pass this from when the fed okayed higher than 65mph on federally funded interstates? You won't be seeing any 75mph signs going up any time soon, gubment likes they money. Safety will be their excuse.

Have to agree about 'reasonable'.

Gotten a few tickets even though I waited a reasonable time for lights to change at 3am in Bedford, NH.

A second piece of ABATE legislation, a bill to crack down on car drivers who don't yield the right of way to motorcycles, is stuck in committee and is unlikely to make it through this year.

"We wanted to increase the penalties for people who pull out in front of motorcycles and kill us dead," Railsback said. "I feel like I'm worth more than $88. That's what it is now, $80 plus court costs."

I agree with this part wholly, every state should be looking at this piece of legislation. Unfortunately, you would still have dumbass's in too much of a hurry to come to a complete stop, pulling into the path of someone.

I like my women a little big. Natural. Now, they shave this and wax that. It's not right. I love natural women. Big women. This trend in women has to go. Bulomia, anorexia. That's just wrong.
