What other members here own a Classic / Muscle / Race cars ?
« on: April 14, 2006, 12:55:54 PM »
As I ausre most of you know, my other money pit is a 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air. I have a few other cars as well, but the 55 is the main one at the momment. Pic below is old, car was just lowered 3'' in rear, and 2'' up front as of last night. 1956 Cadillac hubcaps are on their way ! Eventual plans call fora fuel injected single turbo powerplant... :o ;D

I was just wondering if any other members here have a car of their own ?

Post em if you gots em !

I have had 2-69' road runners, 2 66' Dodge Chargers & a 74' Dodge Royal Monaco, which was
an exState Police car but, not any more. I also had a 68' Dodge 1/2 ton pkup that I built a tilt front
cap for and was working on puttingtilt/telescopic steering and a 440/torqueflite into (had to sell it
because my 11 month old daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy). The last one was the red 69'
road runner that I've used in my avatar. That's life. Later on, Bill

I can't tell you anything about them but, I almost bought an S600 ( I think that's the model).
I was in the USAF in Japan (67'-69') and to buy it, I would have to sell my 66' CB72 and I just
couldn't bring myself to do it. I know that it had a 4 cyl engine and was chain drive. It was a sharp
little car, kinda reminded me of a small Austin Healey Sprite (newer than the bug eyed version).
There're times I wish I had bought it but I sure enjoyed that Honda CB72 Hawk 250.

Owned a 1967 s800 coupe briefly in 72-73. Was imported by a serviceman and I was the 3rd owner. Was probably the biggest (make that the smallest) piece of s++t I ever owned. Not intended for US highways. Overheated, geared for a 50 MPH cruise speed. Interior was made out of Saran Wrap. Sold it to another sucker after it swallowed the cam chain. Parts were unavailable. I have owned 4 Honda cars since and marvel  how far they have come.

The current one is a 56 Ford F-100. Thinking of selling it if anyone is interesed. Running out of room at the hanger.

Had a 69 Roadrunner (383) best damn car ever, and a 66 El Camino, that was a good car too. Still drive my 78 Camero to and from work everyday. And just picked up a 72 Chev Nova (new project).

Damn, now that I think about it I DO have a sickness..... ;D

I've got a 1970 Ford Maverick. This thing will be a work in progress for quite sometime. I had to sell the SOHC Big Block so now on to a small block fuel injected powerplant.

ive got a '64 chevy II, 250 six with 3 speed on column. flat black and real low.

also a '72 datsun 240z. it has been a project for some time now. it runs, but has been apart for paint/body for a while. i just want it to be done, but i'm really not motivated to finish it. now my brother is bugging me to sell it to him.

i recently got the suburban. beat 283/th350. it will get paint one of these days, as well as other touches. it's a mess, but it sits right, and my bike fits inside.

1980 Jeep CJ7.  AMC 258 block with a newer 4.0 high output head.  Weber Carburetor. NP435 Transmission.  2" lift.  31" BFG All Terrain tires.

That is my only other means of transportation other than my bike.  Love them both, but the bike gets better mileage.  So I really only take the jeep in bad weather.

Had the car out all day today (temps in  upper 70's), and got some updated pics.
I dropped the car 2 1/2 '' in the rear, and the front about 4''. Would go lower in the front
but I have to get some different headers before I go any lower, as they are sitting about 1'' from the
ground now  :o This car and speedbumps / sharp driveways arent a good mix  ;D

God I love warm weather......... ;D

1967 Ford LTD 2-door fastback, 2nd owner. Ford only built a few thousand of these, mostly sold in the American West because it's REAL long-legged (130+ MPH). The engine is the 390 "H", tranny is the "MX", both only built in 1966-67.

I just started the rebuild. It's got 220,000 original miles on it. Gets 14MPG city, 18+ highway, and almost nothing will outrun it today except the new Mustangs and the Ford GT40.

Also have a nice 1967 Airstream Land Yacht, 24 feet, to go with it...  ;)

I own my father's 1962 Chevy Corvair Monza coupe...102 hp "Super Turbo Air" engine, 4 on the floor.  Not fast by any means but probably the most fun-handling car I have ever driven.  It's incredibly low-slung, back-heavy, and feels like a 2400-lb. tin can.  The beast served as my daily driver for almost 3 years but started puking oil, and before I could reseal the engine I went out and bought my 750F, which stole all of my attention from that point on.  One day though...

It's not really a muscle car but I bought my son this 1973 Mitsubishi Colt. One lady owner, always garaged and I don't think it's ever been out in the wet. Low miles, and so good it looks as if it has been restored.

Seen here with my 19 year old son, we were out exploring some back roads....

My other money pit, a 1971 Buick Riviera.
Slammin 455 with four bbl, of course.
Linked to the ultra tough TH400 tranny.

Not exactly show quality, but I still get offers every day.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.
