Nice thing about it is the fact that the ends don't fray after you cut it; no need to melt the braid. It came in different diameters. I put some around the main harness as well as the points wires where they snake down underneath the clutch cover.

The tire shop just called me...picking up the completed wheels this afternoon.

Phew! Finished this build with a measly 3 days to spare! Talk about cutting it close.

Well scratch that! They popped the rear tube while I was waiting. Which if they had to pop one, that's the best. Since I have the front now, I can fill and bleed the front brake tonight. Picking the rear up tomorrow. Test ride, pics and vid to follow!

This bike is soooo rad! great color combo! attention to detail is spot on! I want to hear it with that silencer! I have a GP style silencer on my 750 and its anything but silent haha

I'm gluing a rubber pad onto the frame for the seat to rest on. Figured zip ties would hold it on!

Just got back from the around-the-block shakedown, grinning like an idiot the whole way. The bike runs great! Couple small details to hash out, but by and large it's finished! The "silencer" sounds killer, really pissed-off sound to it. I took a vid, but managed to cover the mic with my finger when I switched hands to rev it. I'll go out and grab a better one soon.

And if someone can tell me how to imbed this, that would be great. I've done it before, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work.

Thanks guys. fastbroshi, the only jetting change I made was up to 110 for the mains. It idles smoothly, and I may may raise the needle one notch- there's a very slight hickup every once in a while when you crack the throttle. But overall it's running really nice. Very smooth with the stacks.

Wow......Amazing build. I have used the same foam blocks and 3m77 to sculpt my tank but I could not figure out how to make a completed tank out of it. Thanks for posting the pics and the inspiraiton!

I'm curious about this custom fiberglass work. How do you make the fiberglass release from the foam plugs? Some kind of spray? What kind of density of the mesh do you use for a project like this? How bout the thickness of the tank and seat to make it rigid enough? Do you line the inside of the gas tank with anything to make it leak proof? I would some pictures from the fiberglass process.

Hey henrikm, I don't think I have any more photos of the glass work besides what I posted. I get working and forget to take photo breaks! But I'll double check.

Saran wrap was used in places to get it to release. The resin pulls away easily from the wrap. In other places I used nothing. I then had to chisel the foam out. After I got most of it out, I sandblasted the inside to get the foam completely out, and to rough up the surface to ensure a good bond with the tank liner. I used medium weight fiberglass, and Kevlar, which is comparatively heavy. The kevlar allowed the tank to not be so thick...maybe 1/8", and it's much more rigid than fiberglass, but a HUGE pain to work with. I'd stay away if I were you. Caswell liner went inside the tank. It's supposed to hold up to ethanol; only time will tell!

OK, it's official. My bike definitely needs a custom tank and tail.

That is truly beautiful work, congrats.

BTW - it looks like you cleaned up the stamped stuff on the downtubes from the headstock. Got any detail shots of the result?
