1974 CB750K4 Euro Bars?
« on: April 24, 2011, 04:05:55 PM »
Happy Easter fellow riders!

So, I currently have the stock handlebars on my 74 CB750K and am looking to drop to something lower without going all the way down to drag bars. After shopping around, I have decided that the dimensions offered by the Euro style handle bars seem to be what I am looking for.

Any problems with putting a pair of these bars on? Does the master cylinder have enough room to clear the tach? I figured I would ask to get some input, maybe someone even has some pictures.

Awesome Andy!

Thanks for the photos bud! In your opinion, would you say the euro bars are better for riding long distances?

I'm thinking that I will be going with the Euro style.

I have the super bike bars on my K7 and I find that they're comfortable for long rides (I didn't have any issues with fitting by the way), but like anything it really comes down to personal preference.

I have used superbike bars on multiple Honda4's and they are good, ridden plenty of miles with them and they are about the best bars you can use on these bikes. Euro bars aren't much different, slightly more pull back and a little higher, i imagine they are just as good......
Actually they {euro bars} look a lot like the RD250-350 bars i have used as well and they were just as good....

I have rode many miles with the Euro bars (1250 miles in 10 days with my g/f on the back touring the Adirondacks for example). The bars are ok but they werent perfect for me. The superbike bars were no good (for me) - hurt my shoulders at speed due to the increased wind resistance.

I changed out the Euro bars and now have K1 bars -aaaah perfect! Just the right height and pullback. I went through 3 or 4 bars before getting the right ones for me - all depends on your physique.

good luck
Andy

I installed the European style on my bike. I love the look of them, not too tall or too short. The ones that I got were not predrilled, so keep in mind that you may have to "custom fit" it for the the controls and wiring.

another +1 for euro bars  8)  just added these a few weeks back on my 350F.
no clearance issues at all.  just had to adjust the down angle of my banjo.
drilled/routed out holes based on stock hole placement, pulled wires, a little solder here, shrink tubing there. done.

I have an unused one for a CB750 '74 still in a sleeve it came in. I decided on clubmans. Let me know if you want it.
