Starter Safety Unit
« on: April 24, 2011, 09:59:15 AM »
I need some more help guys.  Does anyone know who is making or who has starter safety units in stock for a CB750K4?  Even a working used one would be great.  The PO removed the one on the bike and left a nice rat's nest of wiring.  I'm using a new harness from CB750 supply and I want to clean things up.  Thanks in advance.

You'll have to get a used one or make one or just jumper it out.
It's just some diodes.

I saw that thread and I'm aware of the ability to bypass.  I'm trying to keep the electrical as stock as possible.  I also wasn't sure if anyone knew if a member on here (hondaman or anyone else) made them or saw a good site with them for sale.  I previously looked on ebay and only saw one and it was was overpriced for used ($65.00).

There are no new ones any more.  I hunted around last year when I was looking for one.
Honda doesn't make them any more.
Certainly there's still some NOS out there somewhere but if you found one it'd probably be pricey.
Keep an eye on ebay, they turn up fairly frequently at more reasonable prices.
Someone here may have one they'll part with.

There doesn't seem to be a lot demand for them, except from folks like you and me.
The Cafe Kids seem content to jumper it out.  ;)

Paid $10 from a member here.  Check out the for sale section and if you see someone parting out the year you are interested send him a pm.  They don't often list every part they have for sale.

I just took mine out, it's yours if you want it (PM me)
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.
