Show me some Fully Faired 750s

I've been strongly considering a full fairing on my CB750, I need some cool pictures of fully faired 750s to push me over the edge. If anybody has any bikes with a fairing from airtech streamlining I'd like to see those too.

That's a nice fairing, but I was planning on getting something from Airtech, something a bit more racey and vintage, a la CR750.

I'm converting my bike to electric and was looking for something to cover and protect the batteries, as well as decrease wind resistance so I can go further on a single charge/faster.

so you are not looking for a vetter windjamer equipped bike photo.  its whats on mine..........actuallu offat moment while I rewire the whole bike

Yeah not quite. I'm not looking for a touring fairing as much as I'm looking for a lightweight race fairing to improve aerodynamics (which is important for a lower powered electric bike).

I like your fairing! I swear! But I'm looking for something that covers the majority of the frame, most notably my batteries. How do you like riding with a full fairing?

on a slightly more serious note, please please keep us updated on your electric build.. its something I am interested in, and would really consider doing

If you are looking for "slippery" in the air, start looking up drag in the context of aerodynamics.  As I understand it, there are 3 types of drag which are roughly categorized into a) (frontal area) the size of the hole you're making in the air as you pass through it, b) (surface drag) the "surface shape" or smoothness/non-smoothness of surfaces that air passes over and c) (form drag) overall shape greatly impacted by the entry and exit shape of the object passing through the air (e.g. rounded leading edge and "tapered to a point" tail like a teardrop work best). 

You can help your frontal area by lowering the bike (decreasing frontal area).  A fairing may increase frontal area but helps with shape and surface.  Using a Vetter with lowers is a net negative but Rickman types apparently help.

an aerodynamic fairing really shouldnt increase the frontal area except where to divert the air in a more aerodynamic way (spoilers etc or to smooth over differing shapes).

There are two types of fairings on motorcycles, one to make the ride more comfortable like a vetter fairing or one purely to decrease aerodynamic drag. If you really want to go 100% get a full bathtub fairing that covers the front wheel. Something that is often overlooked is that the rear has just as much an impact on the drag as the front of a bike..

A vetter style full fairing may be a net negative for ultimate performance, but its a pretty darn good piece, all things considered. If you are actually going to ride your motorcycle significant distances, losing 5mph off the top end (where you never go anyway) is a small price to pay for the comfort.

A naked bike is so dirty aerodynamically. Even if you increase the frontal area with a Vetter, you concurrently clean up the lines and the giveup is not as much as you would think.

I had a Vetter on an 836 engine for just a short while (stupid young kid, I sold it) and I don't remember much by way of negative in performance or gas mileage.

On one particularly high speed run to Phoenix from Tucson, I was 2 up with the Vetter and my buddy solo on a 750 Triumph was truly confounded.

I mean, if this bike was solely for performance I'd consider something like a dustbin fairing. But the individuals who convert sport bikes and retain their fairings, and the individuals that add fairings to their electric conversions noticed a tangible improvement in both range and top speed (up to 20%!). So the purpose of this fairing is not for touring, but for maximizing the amount of fun I could have per charge.

At this point I'm not particularly interested in a vetter fairing, firstly because of looks (I'm vain, I guess) and it doesn't cover the engine compartment and keep my batteries safe and dry. I love the look of the CR750 Racing fairings, though. The batteries, at their widest point, are about 15 inches across (including all the mounting hardware). A race fairing could fit around those batteries no problem, methinks.

as you put this bike together definitely keep in mind the frontal area, if you can stack the batteries in as narrow a way as possible and cut the fairings width down to the minimum that would help as well.

Are you going to leave a mock gas tank?, i would consider loosing.. the frame underneath is a simple tube and there is no reason that you couldnt get your legs pulled in like a bicycle. I think it might kinda look cool too, to be completely tucked into a narrow bodied CR Fairing.

I've spent literally months finding the proper configuration for the big cells I'm cramming in there (70AH cells, and a total of 24 of em), so I honestly don't think I could make the pack any narrower. I based it heavily off the original inline 4 motor. I'll post a picture of the battery configuration when I get home from work.

I also plan on keeping the tank because it makes a great watertight cover for my charger.
