Another question about LED tail and turn signal lights...
« on: August 23, 2013, 05:14:32 PM »
Hello everyone,  I searched the forums and a lot if info about LED lighting for the tail light and turn signals, however it seems to be kind of old (> 2 years) so I though I would post and see if anyone can recommend a LED bulb for the tail light from superbright.com as well as bulbs for the turn signals.

I'm looking for BRIGHT lamps.

Thanks

I used the hyper LEDs for my turn signals very bright even brighter at night my tail/stop I bought a 1157 led bulb from our local Harley shop it was expensive but it was extremely bright.  remember you'll have to change your flasher to a electronic one for the LEDs to work.

Thanks.  Can you link so a web site or something where I can get the hyper LED's and maybe to a flasher that will work with the LEDs?

Only flasher that worked for me was this one https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/car-install-supplies/lf1-s-pin-universal-motorcycle-electronic-flasher/193/841/

For some reason had to reverse the wires but it works.

I use this bulb for brake, tail & license

http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/1157-led-bulb-dual-intensity-25-led-motorcycle-bulb/170/767/

And for a flasher unit, I use a tridon EP36 (available at your local car parts store)

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Right on OldSchool Is Cool!

I also found that only the Tridon EP36 worked for me.  Thanks for the tip about the extra green wire.  Weird that they included this when I had a mechanical flasher with just 2 contacts.

BTW I got 1 bulb that you use and I also got this:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/1157-led-bulb-dual-intensity-45-smd-led-tower-/814/

This bulb kicks ass over the other bulb.  You can also get these is amber and put them in the turn signal and running lights in the front.  I am going to use something less expensive in the rear or maybe just leave the old bulbs there as they are only on for a short period of time.  Don't forget to order the same color as the lens that covers the lamp.  No use generating wavelengths of light that just get filtered out by the lens.
