I love the protection I get, hate the weight. Here in the pacific northwest it really helps on my commute to work,I rode a 2500 mile trip with it and it really saved me from the elements and fatique and I averaged about 46-48 mpg.The bike was FULLY loaded.

I should be okay with weight, my bike is already over 100 pounds less than stock.

The battery layout that works for me right now is this:

It's wide in the front (just like a big inline 4), and will definitely benefit from a full fairing. The piece floating above the rear tire actually fits under the seat.

I'm hoping that with a CR750 fairing, I can get the bike up to 75 miles per hour, and I'm hoping for 50-60 miles per charge.

I thought this might be interesting. I grew up in Germany (yeah no speed limit on the Autobahn!) and at some point my friend owned a CB 550 and I had a KZ 650. First he did not have a fairing on his CB and I was always a little bit faster (205 km/h for my KZ vs. 200 km/h for his CB without fairing). I let you divide by 1.6 to get the mph...After my friend put a full fairing on his CB (race-type), his top spead increased by more than 15 km/h. The bikes were relatively stock, but of course when we brag about numbers we used those runs where we had the wind in the back  :)

Hey Speed King,
I do hope that GL is not your bike. that is one real "ugly" looking fairing. IMHO only.

That thing is pretty crazy and I'm sure it works awesome, but it's just a bit much for street use. I'm already going to feel like a big enough dork on my electric bike. :D

Not the fairing from my GL1000, but I have those bags. Damn handy, I can carry a full week's groceries back from the store in it.

I've been strongly considering a full fairing on my CB750, I need some cool pictures of fully faired 750s to push me over the edge. If anybody has any bikes with a fairing from airtech streamlining I'd like to see those too.

You have the most powerful tool in the world. Your computer.
Type into Google search engine the words:
full fairing CB750 , then go to IMAGES not web results, and you will see photo after photo of CB750's with fairings.

Thanks, the bracketing was something of a nightmare though.  ;)

I hate fairings.  I know they serve a purpose but I still hate the way they look.  I also hate caps on pickup trucks.  I am conflicted on windshields on bikes.  I use to hate them.  When I bought my brand new Harley Heritage Softail I had my daughter drive me to pick it up and took the shield off before I would ride it home.  There was no way I was going to ride a bike with that ugly thing on it.  Then one day I wanted to take the bike but the weather was poor.  I put the shield on and rode it to work.  Its hurts me to admit it but it was really nice.  The wind does not beat you, its quieter and you are much less fatigued at the end of the ride.

So I hate the way the look but I like how they extend your riding season and your ride length's.  Anyone that puts one on their bike, I get it BUT don't look for one to be added to my bike any time soon.

Those that use them will enjoy their bikes more, rack up more miles and are smarter than me.

This model of fairing isn't what you're looking for, and its on a BMW instead of a Honda, but a thread on fairings would not be complete without mentioning the maker Hannigan.
