Air filter choices

Has anyone tried the cheaper Emgo pod filters? Are they worth the savings over the k&n filters?

Try the search function as there have been numerous, lengthy "pod" discussions in the general sohc bikes forum.

(And Emgo's are cheap Chinese garbage that are worse than a stock airbox in many ways.)

I had excellent result using the emgo pods on a cb360, can't get kn's to work worth a nickle on a cb750

i have the emgo pods on my 550. they stop large bugs and small birds. i have had them for 1 year and they are falling apart. if you are sold on pods spend the extra on k&n's.

OK.I'll be the first. Try the stock replacement K&N filter for the stock air box or are you doing some type of a cafe etc.

On my 550, I used the stock airbox because it was specifically designed for that engine, I imagine the same is true for the 750.  I couldn't afford the K&N replacement at the time, so I took my OEM filter, cut out the paper element, hot glued in a chunk UNI filter foam and it works like a charm!

Are you experienced tuning carbs.? if not, stick with the stock airbox. Your bike will be a lot easier to tune and stay tuned with the stock airbox. Pods are for looks and airbox is for good reliable running......

At least K+N tried to mold velocity stacks into the inside of their pods, but using them does change the length of the tuned intake runners.  Over the years I've built certain bikes where this wasn't an issue and others where it caused mysterious flat-spots and made jetting and tuning the carbs difficult.

Im sold on the stock airbox. I wanna ride this thing when I get it done, not work on it more.
