You fellows covered some ground. People that do not know Manhattan cannot imagine how dense it is. And of course you rode through the densest parts.  ;D

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

What would be really cool for me would be to see Godzilla visiting the apartment I lived in back in '72. I don't have any pictures of that time in my life. I was a draftee and stationed in Ft Hamilton, the Army Chaplain school, running the pharmacy for a few months. Don't remember the exact address. Fort Hamilton Parkway below the Verrazano. What I do remember: cross the Verrazano from Staten, take the first exit (I believe) left then left onto Ft Hamilton Pkwy. On the right immediately before you get to the gate of Ft Hamilton in the basement of the row house. Provided it's still there of course  ;)

Just checked your pix. Thanks for those memories  :) Hard to believe it's been almost 40 years since a young 20 year old wet-behind-the-ears kid from western Kentucky lived in NYC going from BFE to the greatest place in the world.

I'll be heading up to Rhinebeck but sadly in my car.  I'm getting their early but will try and stay for the handing off ceremony.

I might be able to find that this week Jerry. Do you recall the name of a street?  Because I sure as #$%* will not be going on the veranzano just to turn around again to follow those directions :)

Ft Hamilton Parkway. Past 100th and close to the entrance of Ft Hamilton as I look on the map. One thing I didn't anticipate - Is Ft Hamilton still in operation?

I really have no idea whether it's still operational, but I would doubt it.

Maybe I'll take a cruise down to that old neighborhood and see what we find...

I went into the Army from Ft. Hamilton too back in '67. They are still open but since 9/11 there are posts at the entrances.

For those of you coming to Rhinebeck by bike here are the arrangements from the organizers:

Hi Bob,

I have you in on Saturday at 1:00. When you get to the gate tell them you are an exhibitor. We have a lot of press attending so you will have good coverage.
I'm thinking of doing the exchange in front of building E. Pray for good weather!
Best regards,
Katherine

If you are not riding up with Scott and I, Google map, Duchess County Fairgrounds, Rhinebeck NY. PM me if you are coming with your contact info and I will respond.

This the last leg in Mid Atlantic, and the Lizard moves on.

Just wrapped up at Billy Joel's shop/museum. It was very last minute, I'm sorry I had no lead time to get more people involved - but they agreed to allow me to come take a look and get shots of GZ on the 2 SOHC-4s he owns.

I'll post pics later this evening.

Lovely day for an air cooled bike in the 97 degree heat. Eeegads!!!

Well done Team. Godzilla was handed off to AndyCB750 at Rhinebeck NY at 2PM. Scott (Nortstudio) and I rode through the Hudson Valley and met Team New England. If it were a decent day it would have been better, but we had a great time
nonetheless.  It rained in the way home. Pictures will be posted on the Riders report thread.

Well done Team Mod Atlantic, mission accomplished!

Jerry we have been invited back to Rhinebeck next year. If I give them more lead time we can be a bigger part. We did get a lot of lookers.

I just stumbled up this. Did anyone go this year? I was there and displayed my old girl in the visitors hall. Do the two rides next to mine look familiar?
