« on: April 23, 2011, 10:27:55 PM »
I am about to graduate, which means its time for me to join the "Real World" I have applied for many jobs, to no avail,  please just wish me luck on future endeavors!

p.s. the bike is in tip top condition, I've been busy riding it instead of posting!

luck man!
any job right now that will help pay the bills is a good job, especially in this econ.  then, while you're working, do the leg work to search the job you want.  we use a lot of temp workers here for clerical and data stuff when we dont have the budget to hire full time.  some go on to work at the company when spots open up, especially the ones that bust @$$, show integrity and good people skills. dont rule that out as an option either.
I hope something comes your way soon.... :)

Thanks everyone! So far not so good, I have applied for work at a lot of places, but with no response, I just applied for a job with Boeing out in Everett, WA. Nothing would please me more then moving out of IL and living in WA but, if im honest I dont stand a chance. Other post graduate college students aside, im entering a work force where applicants in my field have 5-10 more YEARS of experience more then me. With the economy in the dumps and the work force so over crowded with "Ultra qualified" candidates, it looks like I might be working part time, till I die.

That being said, I have been saving up my money, if I dont find a job by Aug. or Sept. I am going on vacation, the closest place I will go is Canada, the farthest is Australia either way I am tired of being sick and tired, I just will need to get away.

As a somewhat recent college grad, my advice is to keep applying, and work any and all contacts you made in college, internships, family, whatever.  No matter what though, keep your head up, and keep applying.
