Spark plug question and gap?
« on: April 28, 2011, 07:53:26 PM »
Hey guys gaining good ground on my project and was curious about my plugs. I have a 836 motor and replaced the plugs with ones that came out. What gap should I run? Should it be factory spec or something more fitting for the 836 motor? Thanks for the input. Safe riding in 11 everybody

Please note I'm running jetted carbs with pod filters. Sorry I didn't put that in the start of the topic

.028 is what you want. Unless you changed out the coils for hotter ones, your gap should be .028

What kind of cam have you got. Is it stock or hypo. The aftermarket sometimes need to run a little looser than stock, like .004 at the valves, not .002 and .003

Not sure on the cam. The motor and carbs were done by a Honda guy who until building his dream shovelhead chopper (bike really was sweet wish I had pics) the Honda was his pride and joy. I am using regular coils haven't switched over yet. Money is the biggest issue with doing wanted upgrades haha. Thanks for the input fellas.
